Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum

Structure: A system of tubes through which material can move. The rough endoplasmic reticulum is the same as the smooth endoplasmic reticulum except for the fact that the rough endoplasmic reticulum is covered in small organelles called ribosomes which are used to make proteins and the fact that the rough endoplasmic reticulum looks like tightly stacked sacs.
Function:
This system is compiled of folds, tubes, and sacs that help to transport materials.  The smooth endoplasmic reticulum takes on the jobs of packaging and transporting  materials used to make proteins and other substances. The network of tubes curves through the cytoplasm of the plant cell.
